Hail and Breakage

A spring storm blew through on Friday the 10th and we actually got some hail. We rarely get anything so exciting as hail with the weather here. We were very lucky as this storm moved north and did some serious damage in TN.

After the sirens stopped and the sun came out we poked our heads outside. One of the dogwoods did not survive the wind. We have never had damage from the storms that frequent our neck of the woods. So it was a surprise to find this. The tree was mostly dead and so this is how it looked after 45 minutes of Scott sawing...

Think of the Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein.

Just IA trying to roll the VERY heavy tree away. Scott came the rescue and rolled it down the hill the add to the pile that was a dogwood tree. Very exciting and we are very grateful that it was all the damage we had.
